BackPolam Hall Careers and Aspirations Programme
Summary of Our Careers and Aspirations Programme
At Polam Hall School, we are proud to offer a carefully planned, age-appropriate Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme for all our pupils, from Reception through to Year 11.
It sits within our school’s Concordia Crescimus Character Curriculum (CC Curriculum) and is overseen by the Careers and Aspirations Lead Katherine Dargue.
Our programme is fully aligned with the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks and the latest statutory guidance. https://www.gatsby.org.uk/
Our Careers provision aims to inspire, inform and prepare pupils for the world beyond school, whether that’s further education or training. It is designed to develop in pupils a strong sense of ambition, curiosity and confidence in exploring the full range of opportunities available to them.
Below are set out the key aspects of our Careers curriculum, which is supplemented by outside speakers, mentors, visits and other opportunities when they are available.

Accessing Careers Information
We actively involve students, parents and carers, staff, and employers in our Careers provision. Information is accessible in the following ways:
- Students can speak with form tutors, attend Careers events, or request a meeting with our Careers and Aspirations Lead Mrs Dargue
- Parents and carers are informed through regular updates, newsletters, parent evenings. Parents and carers may also request a phone call or meeting.
- Teachers have access to CPD and curriculum resources to help embed Careers learning in their subjects.
- Employers interested in supporting our Careers programme (e.g. offering talks, workplace visits, mentoring or work experience) are encouraged to get in touch.

At Polam Hall School we are committed to providing a good quality careers education to all students in Senior School from Year 7-11 and we hope to develop this facility in Junior School over the coming academic year.
You can find details of the activities and events we organise for each year group in the document on the website. This is a work in progress, and each academic year, we challenge ourselves to develop careers provision across the school, by way of organising visits, events and activities with the help of many outside providers and LMI contacts.
