BackUrgent - Parents may not be receiving emails from Polam due to changes made by Microsoft
Posted on: 24th Apr 2026Dear parents and carers,
We have become aware of a possible issue which is affecting parents who use Microsoft / Outlook from receiving any emails from the school.
We have sent a text message to all families alerting them to this matter and added this information to facebook.
This is not a school issue or an Arbor issue, but we believe it is a filtering issue in Microsoft / Outlook email accounts. We are working on creating some guidance for parents on how to fix this issue and are working with Arbor too. However, we urge parents to try and find their own solution to this using online searches as it may be something specific about the settings in their own email system. Please also check your junk / spam folders first.
As an alternative solution, parents are able to change their own email address by logging into Arbor and updating contact details. This may be a solution if you have more than one email provider.
Unfortunately, this means that some families are not receiving emails regarding afterschool detentions and other important matters. For example, Y10 should have received an email about their exams and Y11 reports have also been emailed home, this week.
So we can gauge the number of families affected by this, if you do not receive the Principal’s weekly newsletter by 6:30pm this evening (check junk / spam folders first), please click the link below to make us aware. This will allow us to gauge the scale of the problem. Please click this link if you have not received this evenings Principal’s newsletter: Untitled quiz – Fill in form
We need to ask families to check Arbor for information regarding behaviour and detentions if you know you are affected.
We will update this page, once we have any further information to share.
