David Railton

David was born in Yorkshire, but grew up in South Africa, returning to England to study Pharmacy, receiving a BPharm(hon) 1st class from Bradford University.  After several years working in both hospital and community pharmacy, David gave up pharmacy in 2008 and was ordained as a Priest in the Church of England. After serving as a curate in Melbourne, Derbyshire, David was appointed Vicar of three parishes on the edge of the Peak District and Assistant Chaplain to the Bishop of Derby, before moving up to Darlington in 2015 as Vicar of Blackwell and Consicliffe, and in 2017 as Area Dean of Darlington too. As Vicar of the Parish in which Polam Hall school sits, David was pleased to be asked to be a member of the Local Academy Council in November 2017 and looks forward to working with the school in building connections with the local community. He has 10 years of experience as a school governor.

Director of the Dove Academy Trust and LAC member at High Coniscliffe Church of England School, Trustee of Northeast Wellbeing, and Chair of Trustees of the All Saints Millennium Trust.
