Ms Emma Thwaites

Emma is a marketing and communications expert. She is the Founder and Director of Thwaites Communications Ltd, a strategic communications company working with client across the science, technology and Higher Education sectors. She started her career as a BBC journalist working in radio television and online media for 12 years before spending a decade working in government communications. This included roles as Deputy Director of Strategic Communications for the Cabinet Office, delivering cross-government communications campaigns for No 10, and as Interim Director of The Institute for Government which advises government and senior civil servants on policy making and leadership in the public sector.

Emma is a former pupil of Polam Hall. She credits the school with giving her the start in life that has lead to a very interesting and varied career and wants to bring some of her experience to the benefit of Polam Hall as a free school.

She is a Trustee and former President of PHOSA, the school’s alumni association.
